Grammarly Review 2023 by OBCG

In a Nutshell: Grammarly

To Sum Up Grammarly

As a freelance web designer and editor, I’ve been using Grammarly Premium for four years. It is, in my opinion, the most effective online grammar checker, and it is simple to use. In this review, I’ll outline its key features and illustrate how to utilize it exactly.

Options are:
Free | Business | Premium
Free | $12 | $15

As a professional web designer and editor, I understand the value that a human editor can provide.
However, I continue to use Grammarly to edit all of my blog pieces on a regular basis. Although I consider my mastery of English and grammar to be rather strong, it’s amazing how easy typos and minor errors may occur in anyone’s work.
So, what exactly is Grammarly? Is it justified? Is it capable of replacing a human editor or proofreader?
These and other topics are addressed in the Grammarly review that follows.
This review is extensive because I attempted to be as detailed as possible. If you’re short on time, use the table of contents to swiftly skip to the chapters that most interest you.

Please keep in mind that this post contains affiliate links, which means we will receive a small compensation if you sign up for Grammarly. This did not stop me from sharing both the good and the terrible.

Grammarly Overview

If you write online in any capacity, you’ve undoubtedly heard of Grammarly. With over 10 million daily active users, it is the internet’s most popular spelling and grammar checker.

So, what’s the big deal? What does Grammarly do?

Here’s how it works:

Grammarly evaluates a text you’ve authored for errors. The free edition covers grammar, punctuation, and spelling, but the premium version goes a step further by offering stylistic and best-writing-practice recommendations.

It might distinguish between sloppy, incompetent writing and something captivating and clear.

What it does

The “Extra”

Grammar and Punctuation

It can spot run-on sentences, fragments, comma splices, alliteration, and many other grammar and punctuation mistakes.

Grammarly will explain why a mistake is incorrect if you’re unsure of the reason. It provides you with a brief and simple lesson.

Spell Check

It verifies the spelling of each word you write.

Grammarly’s spell check is superior to the standard Microsoft Word spell checker in terms of broad scope and power, and it has perhaps the best accuracy of any programme on the market.

It can check your entire document for any instances of intentional or accidental plagiarism.

Before publishing anything online, it’s crucial to check your documents for plagiarism using a tool like Grammarly because not all instances of plagiarism are the result of deliberate copying.

Writing Style

Offering hints, suggestions, and advice on your writing style adds that “near-human” touch.

Possibly the most overlooked Grammarly feature. It offers advice on sentence length, overall readability, and other practical tips for writing improvement. This is what you really need if you want to improve as a writer.

Grammarly can help you polish your emails, social media postings, blogs, and formal papers regardless of whether you write for work, pleasure, or both.

Having said that, I feel the following people will benefit the most from utilizing Grammarly:

  • Students
  • Bloggers
  • Copywriters and Content Marketers
  • Professionals and business writers want to create a detailed report, presentation, or email.

Even so, is a Grammar checker necessary?

Worried student looking Grammarly by OBCG

Who loves criticising the work of others? (Of course, uninvited).

But, as a site designer and editor, I understand the need for correct and exact writing. In this day and age of “chat language,” emoticons, and short-form material, it’s easy to dismiss grammar as an antiquated practice. There is, nevertheless, a big difference between great and poor grammar.

This is why:

  • Your message is crucial. If your message is unclear, readers will struggle to comprehend the point you’re attempting to convey in any writing, from website material and blogs to tweets.
  • Your writing reflects your personality. Why risk coming across negatively in your essay due to grammatical faults when it is so simple to avoid? Your writing conveys a sense of who you are to the reader.
  • If you do this, you will lose nothing. Your work will be of more excellent quality if you utilize a grammar checker. It takes very little time, improves your writing, and ensures you employ the proper style and tone to communicate with your audience.

As a result, using an effective online grammar checker is a wonderful approach for authors to verify that their work is intelligible and error-free. Grammarly is amazing, but it is not perfect.

In this review, I’ll go over some of the advantages and disadvantages of using Grammarly, as well as how to get the most out of it.

The three reasons Grammarly is my go-to recommendation

Let’s start with the advantages and explain why I constantly recommend Grammarly to my friends and family.

1. You don't need to be skilled in computers.

Even in 2019, some individuals respond negatively to the phrase “software” (which is why we now use the word “app” instead).

Because we don’t want to deal with anything additional, most of us prefer to remain with what we already know rather than adopt anything new into our routines.

I understand.

Grammarly, on the other hand, varies from the bulk of other existing applications. Despite its capacity for sophistication and extensive features, Grammarly offers a simple user interface and user experience. In an hour, your grandparents could learn and use it.

Grammarly has a few applications (discussed further below), including:

  • The Browser Extension
  • Grammarly Web Tool
  • The Downloadable Desktop App
  • The Microsoft Word Add-in
  • The Mobile App

This means that you can use Grammarly, whichever you choose, with just a few short clicks—by copying and pasting your work into the desktop or online program or by simply having Grammarly pop-ups and correcting lines appear while you type in your browser or Microsoft Word.

And believe me when I say Grammarly is the most user-friendly; I’ve briefly tried other online grammar checkers like ProWritingAid and Ginger.

Nothing makes me happier as an editor than advising that others install a simple and intuitive program that will make their (and mine) life easier.

Grammarly’s Newest Releases Will Help You Get the Perfect Tone! With Grammarly’s smart tone recommendations, you can move any project forward, gain the trust of your team, develop relationships, and close key commercial agreements.

When the stakes are high at work, changing your writing tone might help to strengthen connections and professional relationships. Grammarly’s tone rewrites suggestions to make you sound more confident, personable, and positive.

2. Grammarly Works

After reading my Grammarly review, you’re undoubtedly wondering, “Does Grammarly work?” I’m now utilizing it to write this blog.

Grammarly does truly work. It is more accurate than any other checker in detecting spelling and grammatical problems.

That, I believe, is ultimately what sells it the most. Software development has never been without flaws. Most software and applications will detect the most frequent faults and inaccuracies, but anything more sophisticated is up to you.

Grammarly has always gone above and above to assist, no matter how difficult the issue or suggestion.

I was intrigued as to why. What distinguishes Grammarly from other comparable tools I’ve tried, and why is it more efficient?

Here are a few interesting facts:

  • Grammarly’s co-founders began building software in the late 1990s, and their first product, Mydropbox, was released in 2002. In only five years, they applied to almost a thousand institutions.
  • They focused on creating a product that would be valuable to everyone. Formal and academic writers, as well as students and professionals, write daily.

  • By analyzing millions of pages from research databases, their in-house team of computational linguists and deep learning engineers is constantly working to enhance its “excellent writing” algorithms.

The degree of detail that Grammarly can produce is perhaps my favorite feature.

(However, as I will explain further down, Grammarly is not flawless.) As a result, you must pay attention and check out inappropriate ideas.)

3. You learn everything you require from it.

Grammarly Premium goes above and beyond the obvious benefit of flagging errors by explaining why your errors are incorrect.

Look at their description of sentence fragments, for example:

Grammarly Sample by OBCG

This means you’ll gradually and purposefully enhance your writing skills using Grammarly’s micro-lessons, ensuring that your documents, emails, and posts are written correctly in English.

The following are just a handful of the most common grammatical and stylistic suggestions I’ve come across while using Grammarly:

  • Avoid comma splices for the best comma placement!
  • Verbal overuse
  • Redundancy in the use of words (words like “really” and “actually” frequently add little to no meaning)
  • Language and sentence construction
  • Misuse of adverbs
  • Uncertain modifiers
  • confusing lie with lay
  • improper or unclear pronouns
  • long sentences and verbosity
  • Using “Could of” instead of “could have” is a tautology.

If English is your second language or you want an outstanding daily grammar instruction, there is no better tool than Grammarly.

The five ways to utilise Grammarly

You might be wondering if I have to copy and paste anything I enter into a text field for it to examine my writing. Because that would be really vexing…

The answer is no. There are, without a doubt, more practical ways to take.

Grammarly is an internet-based program, thus you must have an internet connection to use it.

Here are several strategies for double-checking your work:

1. The Grammarly web tool

The first method is to copy and paste your content into the Grammarly online tool. To do so, go to the dashboard and select “New.” The page will thereafter be blank.

Grammarly New Page by OBCG

Copy your text into the page, then wait for the website to work its magic for a few moments. In seconds, the program reads, assesses, and corrects your work.

You can customize your “Goals” settings.

Grammarly Setting by OBCG

If you have a website, you may upload a completed document directly to it. Grammarly will undertake the same content analysis if you choose a copy from your computer and click “Upload” rather than “New.”

You may also start writing on the Grammarly website, and the application will check it as you go.

2. Desktop App

Using Windows or macOS, you can proofread your work with a desktop program. Google Chrome is my preferred browser since it allows you to easily install extensions to your browser.

Visit the download page, download the app for your operating system, and install it as you would the online version.

3. Microsoft Word

A Grammarly add-in may also be used straight from Microsoft Word.

Go to the add-in page and follow the instructions to install it in Word. Once activated, the add-in will verify your writing as you type.

This is how I usually use Grammarly. It was simple to install, and I found it quite straightforward. However, remember that you must be online to utilize it in Word.

Important:  Grammarly will no longer be updated for Microsoft Word on Mac. We recommend using Grammarly for Mac, which allows you to integrate numerous programs and websites, including Microsoft Office products. If you work on more extended texts, we recommend using Grammarly Editor.

Grammarly Mac Microsoft Application by PWD
4. Browser Extension

Using a browser plugin is one of the most basic methods to utilize Grammarly.

You may go to Grammarly by clicking a link on the site or searching for it in the Chrome Web Store.

Grammarly for Chrome Extension by OBCG

Add the extension to Chrome like any other extension, and it will automatically verify your writing anytime you use it on other websites.

This includes Google Docs for people who prefer Google’s word processor and Gmail, which aids with email typing.

Can my Grammarly account be linked to my Google, Facebook, or Apple accounts?
Grammarly accounts can be linked to Google, Facebook, or Apple accounts. Remember to use the same email address you used to sign up for your Grammarly account for your social media accounts.

5. On Cell Phones

Grammarly’s mobile keyboard on Android and iOS cellphones provides writing advice.

Grammarly iPhone Editor and Grammarly for Safari for iPhone are now available on iOS as a single app.

Any iOS device running iOS 12.2 or later is supported. Learn how to install Grammarly on your smartphone.

Grammarly with Safari is only available on iPhones running iOS 15 or later.

Grammarly is compatible with Android devices running Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later. Tablet computers are also supported. Please follow the installation instructions for Grammarly for Android.

What is the price of Grammarly?

Is Grammarly entirely free?

Yes, Grammarly is available for free.

Grammarly is one of my favorite tools because it is free to use. Grammarly’s free edition has no time limitations or trial periods, so you may use it indefinitely.

Grammarly’s free version is also quite good, as I’ll explain below.

You must upgrade to Grammarly Premium or Grammarly Business to enjoy all of Grammarly’s features.

Grammarly Premium is currently priced at:

Grammarly Pricing by OBCG
  • The free version
Basic writing suggestions and tone detection.
  • Premium Version $12.00 / month
    Clarity, vocabulary, and tone improvements
  • Business Version $15.00 / member / month
Features for teams, organizations, and enterprises

A Grammarly Business subscription is also available for $15.00 per user per month when charged annually.) This contains everything in Grammarly Premium, as well as an admin panel, team statistics, and other features.

Now that you know how much Grammarly costs, you’re probably wondering if the free version would enough. Should you pay the additional fee for Grammarly Premium?

Continue reading for my thoughts and an in-depth analysis of Grammarly Premium.

Free Version: What do you get?

Grammarly’s free version is pretty decent, unlike some apps where the free edition or free trial is a poor and severely limited version of itself.

It has a comprehensive spelling, grammar, and punctuation checker that is more powerful than the usual spell check included in most word processors.

When the application discovers potential problems, it highlights them in red. You may go through each issue using the web interface by clicking the regions on the right (Grammar, Punctuation, etc.). You may also find out more by clicking on each highlighted flaw.

The free version will detect the most basic faults in your writing while also suggesting terms you might have meant to use. It displays spelling mistakes such as:

Punctuation Mistakes:

You may also choose your English translation based on where your readers are situated, as well as numerous languages from across the world.

Grammarly identifies distinctions in American, British, Canadian, and Australian / New Zealand English writing dialects, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

It will also bring attention to problems in convention. If you write in Australian English, the word ‘color’ will be highlighted.

You’ll also see how many mistakes Grammarly Premium found in your work. Importantly, they will not be shown in the free version and will require an upgrade to see.

What are the immediate advantages of adopting Grammarly?

As soon as you start using Grammarly, you’ll notice a difference in your writing. The key benefits of utilizing the free checker are as follows:

  • It may be used in “real-time,” indicating errors as you write, or it can be used at the end to ensure no mistakes have been neglected.
  • Clear explanations on how to modify or reorganize sentences.
  • Spelling is checked in American, British, Canadian, and Australian English.
  • Simple to use on a variety of devices and document types.

These are some of the benefits of using Grammarly for free.

How about the Premium Edition? Is Grammarly Premium a good buy?

Grammarly Premium Review

Grammarly Premium is unrivaled among online grammar checkers.

To begin, the premium version contains all of the features included in the free version. There’s also everything else.

Grammarly Premium includes a far larger number of grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and context checks. Improvements in writing style, tone, and clarity in work and school. In addition to the tests in the free version, it will look for the following:

  • Everything in Free
  • Clarity-focused sentence rewrites
  • Tone adjustments
  • Plagiarism detection
  • Word choice
  • Formality level
  • Fluency
  • Additional advanced suggestions

According to the firm, Grammarly’s premium edition goes beyond grammar to ensure that everything you write is clear and engaging.

Grammarly Premium will not guarantee that your writing is clear and engaging. No grammar checker can turn hasty, sloppy writing into a piece of art.

Grammarly Premium, on the other hand, provides some useful features that I use frequently. When I run Grammarly Premium over a piece of writing, it always provides a couple additional useful ideas, which I include into my work. I’ve discovered that using the premium version helps my writing.

It also provides detailed information about your grammar errors in the pop-up box, which the free edition does not.

Set Goals - Tailor Your Audience

However, my favorite feature of Grammarly Premium is the ability to customize the recommendations and comments I receive by defining my Audience Goals.

Feedback is always useful as a site designer and writer. Any comments, however, must mention the reasons for writing or why the information was made in the first place.

Grammarly strives to make its AI editor into something more human with these tailored aims.

Here’s how to make the most of this feature.

Grammarly Setting by OBCG

You may edit the settings of a new document to generate writing objectives based on the following:

  • Domain (Academic, Business, General, Email, Casual, Creative)
  • Intent (Inform, Describe, Convince, Tell A Story)
  • Audience (General, Knowledgeable, Expert)
  • Formality (Informal, Neutral, Formal)

Grammarly may select which errors to flag and which to ignore by setting these parameters. Grammarly will also give some useful insights based on these goals.

Let’s go through some of these possibilities and why I think they’re important:

  • Audience:  Your audience is crucial when it comes to content delivery. When your audience is a subject matter expert, employing jargon and highly technical, industry-specific words may be helpful. However, when they are members of the general population, it may be extremely alarming.
  • Formality:  The contrast between formal and informal writing styles may make or break a paper, assignment, project, or communication. You must grasp when and when not to use particular words and language.
  • Domain:  What do you write about: academic, business, general, email, casual, and creative?
  • Intent:  With settings like “Inform,” “Describe,” “Convince,” and “Tell A Story,” you can bet the computer will try to figure out why you constructed your story the way you did.

While their customised feedback algorithms aren’t perfect, it’s fascinating to observe how they’re evolving from a basic grammar checker to an all-around text analyst.

It’s the closest thing to having a real-life writing tutor clarify language intricacies while you write.

Is Grammarly Premium Worth The Money?

Grammarly Premium is an excellent value, in my opinion.

A free version is an excellent tool, and having a second pair of eyes assess your work is superior to not having one. It detects more spelling and grammatical mistakes than a basic free checker.

Install Grammarly and put it to the test if you’re a writer on a low budget.

However, like with most things, paying for something is better than getting something for nothing.

Grammarly Premium can identify various spelling and grammatical mistakes in your work. You’ll also receive feedback on how to improve your writing style and context for your errors.

I pay for the premium edition because I enjoy the extra features.

Typos and minor errors must not appear in my work while creating a Website Article or Blog on editing, proofreading, and writing.

In conclusion, if you take your writing seriously, Grammarly Premium is definitely worth the extra expense!

What can be implemented to improve it?

I can suggest Grammarly with confidence, but it doesn’t mean it’s without issues. What I feel might be improved are the following:

  • The benefit For infrequent authors, the pricing is unreasonably high. If you’re a casual writer who only requires Grammarly sometimes but still wants all of the premium features, US$12.00 a month may be a bit pricey. However, the free edition of Grammarly still performs an excellent job, but depending on your writing, you may lose out on polishing the text’s structure, tone, and so on.
  • A free trial for premium features. That leads me to my second point: a free trial for premium clients may be an excellent approach to introducing the new features and letting them see the difference it makes in their job.
Grammarly presently does not offer this service. I can see how novice authors could be hesitant to spend monthly or annually without examining the features.
HOWEVER, Grammarly often offers free trials of Grammarly Premium to individual users. When a free trial is offered before upgrading to Grammarly Premium, you’ll see an opportunity to join on their website or by email from your subscription with the Free Trial Offer (don’t miss it when it’s available).
  • It is presently accessible exclusively in English. If you write in another language, Grammarly is not for you. Compared to some competitors, it would be fantastic to see this adopted in the future.
  • Accuracy. Grammarly is quite good at spotting errors or typos in writing, but it cannot replace the human eye in terms of precision (and maybe a grammar checker never will). As a result, I manually examine Grammarly’s suggestions regularly (more about that below).

Grammarly's performance in comparison to a human editor

This was my favorite part of my Grammarly review to write about!

I am a professional web designer and editor, writing web pages, articles, and blogs for magazines in English and German. I recognize the importance of clear, accurate, and error-free writing.

Grammarly can spot specific errors, but it is not a human editor. As an editor, I understand that robots have a long way to go before competing with humans.

Grammarly will let inevitable mistakes get through, even if they appear to be trivial. Some faults are more difficult to identify by machines.

You may, for example, employ a nicely worded term that is inappropriate in the context of the paragraph. You may also state that someone has blonde hair in one region and dark hair in the next.

Grammarly will not notice these mistakes, but a good human editor will.

More intricate issues, such as paragraph length, tone of voice, and the meaning of words and sentences, necessitate the use of a person.

English is a complex language to write correctly and even more challenging to proofread.

English grammar rules are adaptable, and great writing and narrative elements are very contextual. The flexibility of human eyesight will always exceed the rigidity of automated technology.

Consequently, while Grammarly is a great tool for informal writing, it is not appropriate for professional writing. Professional editing is required when writing a dissertation, a key business document, or a novel.

Finally, Grammarly does not compete with human editors. You are not required to select between them. They are helpful for a variety of writing styles.

Grammarly vs. Competitors

Grammarly isn’t the only online grammar checker you can use. Nonetheless, it is the most popular, with approximately 30 million users in 2020.

Every month, 31 million individuals visit the Grammarly website. Grammarly is mainly utilized through its web app. Therefore a substantial percentage of this traffic may be attributable to the 6.9 million daily app users.

Grammar checkers similar to Grammarly include ProWritingAid, Ginger, and WhiteSmoke.

They are full-fledged grammar, punctuation, and spelling checkers, similar to Grammarly.

How do they compare to Grammarly? Are these viable alternatives? Is there a clear winner in the field of automated grammar checking?

Let us look at it.

  • Probably the most incredible Grammarly substitute available.
  • It focuses on enhancing your writing and addressing spelling and grammatical errors. It accomplishes this by looking for faults with sentence structure, clichés, overused words, repetitive phrases, and a lack of sentence length variation.
  • It gives you a full assessment of your writing that focuses on these “larger picture” difficulties. This may be valuable for larger writing pieces like novels or essays.
  • I appreciate their emphasis on style. Every day, as an editor, I come across lines and sections that aren’t technically wrong, but the language is unnatural and difficult to read. ProWritingAid’s style suggestions might help enhance all types of complicated writing.
  • Outstanding value for money. The Premium version costs $79 per year (Lifetime option one-off – $399), while the Premium+ version (which includes a plagiarism checker) costs $89 (Lifetime option one-off $499). Grammarly is far more expensive, costing $139.95 per year.

  • It sacrifices simplicity for comprehensiveness.
  • It’s not as sophisticated or user-friendly as Grammarly, a pure spelling and grammar checker.
  • It’s easy to become overwhelmed by the sheer number of style information available. While their advice may be valuable if you’re writing a book or an essay, it’s usually unneeded for everyday writing like emails and social media postings.
  • ProWritingAid has improved and now easily integrates with MS Word/Outlook, Google Docs, Scrivener, Open Office, and Final Draft so you can edit wherever you write. Their Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari browser extensions let you check your writing on almost every website, including Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Medium, Wattpad and more.

Are you looking for a free grammar checker? Consider Hemingway Editor, one of the best free grammar checkers with a variety of advanced features. This website and desktop tool assess the readability of your work using the Flesch-Kincaid reading level, which usually advocates striving for straightforward, conversational language to fairly easy-to-read material (grades 6 through 8 on the scale).

This tool will search the text for adverbs, passive words, and intricate or lengthy sentences. It shows faults in different colors and allows you to change them in real-time. The biggest downside of this free application is that it requires you to copy and paste your information into the editor; it does not scan text in emails or other documents.

  • It includes a translator that allows you to translate your writing across 60 languages, which Grammarly does not.
  • On a practical level, a translator might benefit someone who has to write in languages other than English. For example, you might write in Spanish, translate to English, and check for spelling and grammatical mistakes with Ginger.
  • You will receive your dictionary. This means you may tell Ginger not to mark particular words as incorrect. This is beneficial if you utilise your novel’s odd character names or technical language.
  • Grammarly costs $139.95 for an annual membership, whereas Ginger costs $84

  • Although Ginger has comparable features to Grammarly, it is not as simple to use and has an unappealing layout.
  • You must also hover over the grammar issues rather than see them immediately. This slows down the proofreading process slightly.
  • It does not yet have a Mac desktop app.

  • It interfaces with all leading platforms, as do all effective grammar chequers. It features desktop versions for Windows and MacOS and extensions for all major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Opera).
  • Aids in the creation of professional papers. It includes templates for writing tasks like Thank You, Condolences, and Sorry messages.
  • WhiteSmoke Premium annual subscription is $79.99, whereas Grammarly’s is $139.95.

  • Although Ginger has comparable features to Grammarly, it is not as simple to use and has an unappealing layout.
  • You must also hover over the grammar issues rather than see them immediately. This slows down the proofreading process slightly.
  • It does not yet have a Mac desktop app.

  • In terms of user interface and speed, it is not as advanced as Grammarly, ProWritingAid, and Ginger. It is more difficult to use.

Why Grammarly is Better

On the surface, these grammar checkers look to be formidable rivals to Grammarly.

Grammar, spelling, and punctuation checkers like ProWritingAid, Ginger, and WhiteSmoke can all be helpful. They also have some additional features that Grammarly does not.

ProWritingAid provides more thorough feedback on your writing style. Ginger provides a language translator, but WhiteSmoke includes professional templates to help you write professional documents.

And they’re all cheaper than Grammarly.

Grammarly, on the other hand, is the best online grammar checker, in my opinion. The reason is straightforward: it is the most user-friendly and intuitive.

Grammarly’s product is more aesthetically beautiful, streamlined, and useful than its competitors. They all have a clunkiness about them in contrast.

The Grammarly desktop program, in particular, is visually appealing, and the interface is user-friendly because of its clear iconography. You may rapidly identify the errors, explain the error, and choose whether to apply or delete them with a single click.

Grammarly is also quite easy to set up. When I’m in my browser, it quickly checks anything I input (I use Google Chrome). It just works in the background.

Grammarly is unsurprisingly more aesthetically beautiful and user-friendly than its competitors. It’s just a larger organization with more substantial resources.

Consider the following. If they can afford to spend millions on those stunning TV advertising, imagine how much they’ve invested in R&D and design across their website, apps, and browser extensions.

If online grammar-checking became an arms race, Grammarly would have all the nukes.

I usually go with the larger companies since they have more support and are quicker to release bug fixes, new features, application integration, and so on.

But when it comes to allowing a robot to edit my work, I want the most user-friendly tool. As part of my job, I write this blog, and I need my workflow to be as efficient as possible.

That is why I enjoy Grammarly.

Is Grammarly safe to use?

People are concerned (and understandably so) about whether Grammarly protects their work.

Grammarly keeps your work on its servers so that proofreaders may access it, but deleting the information from your account also removes it from the server. Your work remains yours throughout the process.

Grammarly had a few concerns with data privacy and malfunctions in 2018, but according to all reports, their team responded quickly and resolved the issues.

Their privacy policies may be found in the footer part of their website.

Remember this.

Before I wrap up my Grammarly review, I want to emphasize that you should still individually analyze its recommendations.

In other words, you can’t always rely on Grammarly to get it right.

Grammarly isn’t a perfect grammar checker. It almost entirely recognizes fundamental errors and typos, but as things become more advanced, it can offer some baffling and incorrect suggestions.

This is hardly surprising considering the English language’s peculiar customs and inconsistent standards because grammatical rules are sometimes designed to be broken.

So, keep your wits about yourself and pay attention when using Grammarly. Examine its advice, read the explanation if necessary, and Google it if in doubt.

Even though I’ve been a web designer and editor for many years, I do it occasionally.

Is Grammarly worth it, in my opinion?

You’ve read my Grammarly review, so you already know how much I like it and use it when I create my web designs and blogs/articles.

It isn’t perfect and will never be able to take the position of a good human editor. However, it serves its original purpose excellently. It also comes in handy when reworking phrases and fixing spelling mistakes. I don’t think I can go on without it any longer.

So, should you use it?

Grammarly, in my opinion, is an excellent tool for virtually any writer.

The free version is great for everyone who writes short text, from bloggers to students to people who send emails regularly.

The Premium version is ideal for anyone who needs to create more professional, longer-form content. If your material is intended for publication (such as a dissertation or book) or will be reviewed by important stakeholders (such as a working document), I wouldn’t put all of my eggs in Grammarly’s basket.

Anyone learning English as a second language should get the premium edition.

Making errors with the complexity of English is natural, and Grammarly catches many (but not all) of them. It not only points up mistakes but also suggests adjustments and explanations, making it a wonderful tool for improving your written English.

Grammarly is worthwhile to download if you want to add an extra layer of checks to your writing or if you want to improve your writing by being more aware of typical defects that impair it.
